Your biggest meals of the day should be breakfast and lunch. Then you have the rest of the day to burn the calories.

Try to eat 5 to 6 meals a day. This speeds up your metabolism. When you don't eat enough meals daily, your body goes into store mode. This is a defensive mechanism. It knows you are not going to eat, so it stores your calories. A good sequence of eating is breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack.

Think ahead. It's a good idea to pack your lunch the day before. If you are not prepared, you run the danger of buying a fast, unhealthy snack.

An apple a day really does keep the doctor a way. Try eating oatmeal with sliced apples in it. It's a great way to get a fruit and whole grain serving to start your day.
